Self-Sufficient and Sustainable Structure

The spectacular futuristic concept is envisaged by the firm ZNera Space to make the structure self-sufficient and sustainable. The massive ring will house several residential units and public & commercial blocks. But what makes this project so special is that the ring will surround the world’s largest free-standing skyscraper- Burj Khalifa. Further, the ring will cover all the Downtown Dubai within a circumference of three-kilometer.

The firm also revealed the renderings of this futuristic state-of-the-art design on its social media platform. They mentioned, “As a response to the dilemma of how to build densely while retaining liveability, the downtown circle project establishes a sustainable and self-sufficient vertical urbanism. As a singular mega building complex, it aims to create a hyper-efficient urban center that gives back to the environment.” The project proves to be an effective alternative to the old-style gated societies and skyscrapers found in most metropolitan cities

The Vision of the Futuristic Circle

The idea of creating a Downtown Circle surrounding the Burj Khalifa came to co-founders Najmus Chowdry and Nils Remess of ZNera Space during the time of the pandemic when the people’s lifestyle in cities and their homes got changed.

The plan was to reconsider the living of the people residing in tall towers and offer a nature-touched new-age living to them. They shared, “We looked at aspects such as garbage disposal, food production, traffic problems, pollution. We put all these things together and came up with the concept,” Remess stated. The vision of the circle is not just limited to a futuristic concept but also confronts environmental problems and societal constraints.

The Tall Ring Will House Multi-Purpose Amenities

The proposed giant structure will comprise several multi-functional amenities. It will contain a fleet of hanging peripheral pods that will take people from one node to another within the circle.

These suspended peripheral vessels will have a rail-like network that will enable passengers to even move at the bottom tier of this huge dynamic ring.

Skypark for Nature’s Connection

The structure will also have a ‘Skypark’ where natural climate and scenarios are recreated, allowing a great journey for the visitors and residents of the circle.

The massive future ring will have a natural habitat made of dunes, waterfalls, swamps, digital caves, cascades, canyons and different flora, fruit trees, and flowers of various hues and species.
