The Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan, a new addition to the Radisson Collection brand, has recently opened in Milan. Strategically located at the intersection of Via Santa Sofia and Corso Italia, in a vibrant and well-connected neighborhood, it stands midway between Piazza Duomo and Navigli. The former Allianz Italia offices underwent a remarkable transformation under the architectural and interior design expertise of Studio Marco Piva. The firm was responsible for the entire building's layout, including the architectural design, interior design of the rooms, gym, and corridors. Collaborating with interior contractor Concreta, known for their thirty years of experience in creating bespoke furniture based on architectural designs, Studio Marco Piva enhanced the project's design content.

Studio Marco Piva's design philosophy emphasizes the morphology of buildings and their context, which served as inspiration for an urban-style architectural and interior design language. The hotel's flexible spaces successfully merge hospitality, workspace, and domestic elements, resulting in a highly efficient and functional design that imparts an urban touch while still providing a comfortable, home-like ambiance.

The interior design of the Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan showcases a contemporary urban style with a domestic feel. By combining the concepts of "business," "urban," and "loft," each room exudes a small urban loft vibe, featuring large windows with black frames that maximize brightness and permeability between the bathrooms and sleeping area. Soft dark curtains allow privacy when desired.

Concreta, entrusted with the production of custom-made fixed furnishings and free-standing elements, impeccably crafted the 159 rooms designed by Studio Marco Piva. This includes 130 standard rooms, 28 junior suites, and 1 suite. The junior suites stand out with their varying sizes and unique furnishings, offering features such as walk-in closets, day-night area division with lounge sofas, custom-made sofas for enhanced comfort, additional bed groups, and double-sink bathrooms.

Custom-designed bed frames, bedside tables, wardrobes, sink furniture, mirrors, and desks by Studio Marco Piva, skillfully manufactured by Concreta, exhibit finely researched details and textures, creating a welcoming and pleasing environment. The choice of materials and colors reflects the luxury and lifestyle of a five-star hotel while meeting the standards required for certifications and the contract sector. Warm materials such as wood and leather are harmoniously combined with contemporary elements like glass and metal. Wood essences are replicated with laminated panels of exceptional quality and durability, while eco-leathers provide longevity and easy maintenance. The color palette predominantly features shades of blue with red accents, alongside various shades of gray, including black defining the spaces.

Curtains play a significant role in both aesthetics and functionality, creating a cozy and soft atmosphere within the rooms. The use of natural light, seamlessly integrated with internal lighting systems, is a standout feature. Welcoming spotlights gradually transition guests from the darker hotel corridors to the bright room environment. Warm, indirect LED lighting illuminates the rooms, accentuated by LED strips integrated into the curtains' grooves and behind the bed's headboard. Additional suspended lights, reading lights, decorative wall lamps, and optimal bathroom lighting contribute to an exclusive and comfortable atmosphere throughout the Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan.

The hotel corridors are adorned with decorative frames replicating the facade scan, featuring alternating artwork to create focal points on the light-colored walls. Dark carpets with irregular patterns and dark ceilings, complemented by indirect lighting, enhance the corridor ambiance.Concreta's involvement extends to furnishing the gym area, where light oak wood and light strip oak with fresh and light gray tones create a bright and inviting atmosphere. Mirrored surfaces contribute to a sense of spaciousness, while the well-equipped gym features workout machines, a wardrobe area, a water dispenser, a bathroom, and a sauna. Reserved for guests, the gym aligns with the overall concept of the hotel rooms.

For the facade, Concreta supplied and installed metal backlit signs, ensuring brand consistency as per the client's instructions.

The Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan aims to achieve a LEED Gold certification. Great attention has been devoted to materials selection, system and fixture installations, as well as fireproof qualities for all textile elements. Starting in 2019, the Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan now welcomes guests, offering traditional comfort and amenities synonymous with Radisson Collection hotels.
