An Interplay of Different Materials Craft This Contemporary, Low-Maintenance 4 BHK Home in Gujarat | Aditya Sutaria Architects

"Matri Chayya Residence“ is a carefully curated 4BHK residential apartment designed by Aditya Sutaria Architects for a family of four in Surat, Gujarat. Understanding the clients' requirements for a house that’s high on luxury and low on maintenance, the firm took a contemporary approach to designing the spaces. "We derived at cocooning the house with an interplay of different materials such as stone, metal accents, natural wood and a pastel shades of pale grey and white to balance the visuals," tells the architect to SURFACES REPORTER (SR). Inside this home are infinite design lessons. Matra_Chaaya_residence Spread over a 3300sqft. built-up space in Surat, Gujarat the home contains various open and spacious spaces. This apartment opens up beautiful views of verdant greenery outside while maintaining a cosy, warm and minimalistic vibe inside. The firm incorporated varied materials to offer a unique character to the home.

Entrance

The entrance is a beautiful amalgamation of stone and wood inspired by nature. Calcutta marble was cut from the centre and veneer was used depicting a leaf as the nameplate area.

Living room

The living room is designed with dominant white shades of flooring, customised CNC panels on walls and ceilings.

Matra_Chaaya_residence The neutral colour palette is further highlighted with tiles on the TV unit with golden accents. The curtains have also been kept to a minimal shade of grey with contrasting azure blue sofas to bring more drama to the space.

The dining area has a wooden highlighter ceiling accompanied by an open kitchen concept.

The bedrooms 

These are designed with shades of blue beige and pastel grey. We have used Valsadi Sagwaan wood, fabric textured laminated, as well as wallpapers to derive interesting spaces for two children's bedrooms. Matra_Chaaya_residence The guest bedroom is a sea of dyed veneer that complements the beautiful pale greys of the wall.

The master bedroom has a touch of luxury with Italian marble on the bedback with rose gold accents to enhance the space.
