IKEA Releases PC Gaming Furniture In Partnership with Hardware Brand Republic of Gamers

IKEA has recently released the E-Gaming Furniture collection to "democratise the gaming experience". The furniture is launched in collaboration with famous hardware brand Republic of Gamers. It comprises four desks that come along with chairs. The price range of the furniture is kept affordable so that a broader demographic of people can access the professional-level set-ups. Currently, the range is only for sale via IKEA China, but it will be made available in other countries later this year. Read SURFACES REPORTER (SR) 's a complete report on this:

The PC gaming furniture collection covers more than 30 products, including a line of accessories. There are available a variety of options from classic black to more refined grey and white.

"The needs of billions of gamers around the globe are very diverse, whereas the existing offer is rather technical and often perceived as masculine design-wise, despite around 46 per cent of gamers being female," said Ewa Rychert, global business leader of workspace at IKEA.

Technically Advanced Furniture Range

The most technically advanced furniture is a desk with a height adjustment panel that works with an electric motor to provide an immersive gaming experience.

The Utespelare range is more refined and pared-down, which IKEA created in an alliance with gaming hardware brand of Taiwanese electronics company ASUS. It will have an extra-wide tabletop to place two screens at comfortable eye distance along with an integrated USB charging dock.

Other equipment includes headsets and controllers stored in a matching, sleek black drawer or shown on a pegboard. There are integrated magnetic stripes as well to hold the screws or tools.

Also, there is a width-adjustable metal stand for keeping CPU. The companies claim that it can hold more computer towers than any other product on the market.

The accompanying Matchspel chair allows the user to move appropriately and comfortably in any direction. It is fully adjustable with armrests to reduce muscle strain and a backrest to the head's height.

The collection is designed to suit different budgets and interiors.

Utespelare range is more pared-back range features a slim desk with a gridded insert for proper ventilation to avoid the PC from overheating.

One can manually adjust the desk. It also has a matching chair in grey or black faux leather with an integrated pocket at the back to keep vital tools or equipment at arms reach.

The Huvudspelare series includes a matte black desk for an ideal gaming experience. It has a mesh backrest on the accompanying chair for proper air circulation to stop the system from overheating.

Apart from the furniture pieces, the Lånespelare accessories range covers everything from neck pillows and extra-large mousepads, and desk mounted cup holders for avoiding spillages to headset stands.

In 2019, IKEA also designed a series of 3D printed accessories for making gaming equipment more accessible.
