That’s the question at the heart of Placyle – Sustainable Studio, an Indian design studio redefining what sustainable outdoor furniture can look like. Founded by Aliasgar Aboojiwala, a UK-trained mechanical engineer whose deep connection with nature led him to explore how design and engineering could come together to create more responsible products, Placyle combines material experimentation with hard engineering. The Celestia Series
- Inspired by the Milky Way, the Celestia Series turns 26kg of discarded plastic waste into a refined, functional design that echo the quiet beauty of galaxies.
- Every recycled sheet carries its own constellation-like pattern, therefore no two pieces are identical.

- Crafted from recycled polypropylene plastic sourced from discarded vapor-rub containers and cosmetic packaging, it is backed by stainless steel frame construction for durability and structural strength.

Selache
- Where Celestia looks to the stars, Selache looks to the sea.
- Crafted from materials that once threatened marine life, including discarded fishing nets and recovered ocean waste, this outdoor lounge chair draws its form directly from nature’s most graceful ocean predator, the shark.
- The chair’s side profile echoes the elegant curve of a shark’s fin, capturing that fleeting moment of a fin rising through water.
- Its colour story continues the theme, with deep blue rising into soft white, mirroring the rhythm of waves and sea foam.
- Each recycled sheet carries its own natural pattern, hence no two Selache chairs look quite alike.

Aliasgar Aboojiwala, a UK-trained mechanical engineer, founded Placyle – Sustainable Studio, driven by a deep connection with nature and a vision to merge design with responsible engineering. Combining material experimentation with his engineering expertise, he developed Placyle’s in-house manufacturing machinery and Next-Gen PolyForming Technology.
