nawazuddin_homeKnown for his outstanding acting prowess and off-beat films, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has recently surprised his fans and critics alike with his new talent- interior designing. The skilled actor has lately completed designing his opulent home in Mumbai.

It took the Sacred Games actor almost three years to renovate and build the house, thanks to the pandemic. The actor says that a lot of hard work was invested into the construction and design, and those connected with him during the process could empathize with his feelings for the place, as he had made a mark for himself after a lot of struggle. The architect believes that this house will be a symbol of his hard work for so many years.

Talented Actor and Interior Designer

Very few people might know that the actor had studied architecture and aesthetics at the National School of Drama. Further, he also studied scenic design in his first year. In an interview, the actor also said that it was not a conscious plan to design a new house. He thought that there was no need to have his own house. However, when someone showed him land in Mumbai. He planned to purchase it and utilize his studies to design how own house. He thought about how a house can be designed. He wanted a minimal home and a clutter-free home.

The actor also said that he does not know how much time he will spend in this house as half of his life has been spent on Vanity Van. Most of the time he spends on set, that’s the crying, added the 47-year old actor. However, he further said, he likes staying busy and working as it gives him more happiness.

Influenced from Islamic Architecture

The actor took cues from his old house in his hometown Budhana, Uttar Pradesh to design this lavish bungalow. The opulent three-story house boasts a huge porch, adorned by a white marble facade and a terrace. The home has a strong influence of Islamic architecture. The external archways and jaali (perforated) walls provide significant insight to the Mughal-Islamic architecture and design and offer an elegant touch to the house.

It also comes with an attached backyard that has been transformed into a manicured garden. From the front, it is hard to understand the exact size of the bungalow. Yet, the hard work and dedication that has gone into the making of the project can be easily perceptible.

The actor said that the house should be a haven where you come to relax. He used only three colours in the entire house- white, wooden and sky blue. The home also encompasses a garden and cabin where the actor reads his scripts and contemplates.

nawazuddin_homeThe architect has posted multiple photos of his grand home on Instagram. In one of the shots, he can be seen sitting in the sunlight on his lawn and reading something.

The architect has been awarded a nomination for Best Actor at the International Emmys 2021 for his Netflix film 'Serious Men’. In terms of work, the actor has a busy schedule year ahead with five releases in 2022 lined up.
