Broke Out in a Mumbai Highrise

Saturday, 22nd January 2022, Mumbai - A level 3 massive fire broke out in Mumbai's 20-storey Kamala building near Bhatia hospital, on the 18th floor. As per early reports, BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) said that 13 fire engines have been sent. Several people are injured while 7 people died in this unfortunate incident.

This incident is not a lone case. Not long ago, on October 22, 2021, there was another level 3 fire breakout in 60-storey residential building in Mumbai.

Level 3 fire generally means danger is currently affecting your area or is imminent, and you should leave immediately. These news about fires in high-rise buildings is a cause for major concern and we at SURFACES REPORTER have been bringing the issues time and again. It is too early to ascertain the cause of fire, however, one thing is certain, the need for auditing the high-rise buildings and putting fire safety norms in place.
