Lighting for Office Spaces

Office spaces requires ample amount of lighting in foyer areas, passages and entrance. For office spaces, lighting is of utmost importance at the desks, conference rooms, staircase and foyer areas to create an ambience and for people to look at things properly, be productive and work efficiently.

LED lights and many other lights work great for such areas. Surfaces Reporter(SR) would like you to know about different kinds of lights and lighting techniques for office spaces with which one can create an ambience for a spatial area within the building. But before we move ahead, we would like to tell you that the 36 square foot room requires a minimum of 35 watt of light.

1. Lay-in Fixtures: These lights are directly places within the ceiling with the use of hardware. These recess lights downwards and are best suited for foyer areas, passages or rooms in an office space. These bring ample amount of light in the space and keep the room bright.

2. Track Lights: These are mounted with a rod on the ceiling where multiple LED lights can be attached with the rod. The need and use of wire lessens with Track Lights. These are used in industries or art galleries.

3. Recessed Troffer Lights: These lights are mounted in the ceiling in office spaces like staircase, cafeteria, bathrooms, parking where the need to light is more. These lights are highly sustainable and creates less heat within the space. These are available in shapes like circles and squares.

4.Desk Lamps: These are used on desks in office spaces. They help provide a brighter light and a closer light on the desk where the work is of consideration.

5 .Task Lights: These are used in workspaces where the work requires a higher level of concentration. These are installed over desks and they replace High Pressure Sodium(HPS), High Intensity Discharge(HID), incandescent lights, CFL and luminaries.

6. Suspended lights: These lights are generally hung from the wall using wire. These provide ample amount of light in a space with high ceilings.

7 .Natural Light: This is the most important phenomenon when working on lighting solution within an office space. Make sure that there is a way to provide a higher amount of natural light within the room as it keeps the employees productive, and keeps the space fresh. It also helps in saving energy during the day.
