COVER STORY: WORKING FROM HOME: Designer Angie Kriplani,Founder, Renaissance Homez, Delhi

We have provided Work From Home option in our firm. The employees are working through their personal or official laptops issued by the company. Since ours is an architectural and interior design firm, it is not possible to do all our work remotely from the homes. Similarly, site supervision is also not happening. Technically we are doing Work From Home but only the work which can be done and executed from home.

Drawings can be made from home but it is the responsibility of the senior staff that the juniors are attuned with the job requirements and provided guidance with.

In terms of products procurement, things which can be sourced online, are continued, rest are on hold since shops are shut. We also have an upcoming portal to source interior products. Here also the back end process is continued while the delivery is taking slightly longer.

While the plans have not taken a backseat, they are certainly delayed. The shops are closed so there is no buying and in case of online sourcing, there is delay in delivery which has put the projects on hold for now.

In Work From Home, the productivity has gone down to 50% due to all these limitations. However, in order to make sure that a healthy environment exists and for the world at large, whatever work is possible, needs to be done from home.

The main concern is that the delivery channels are blocked whether it is online or offline around the world. But the situation is still manageable for few weeks. We will do a review every two weeks and will decide the next course of action.
