Surfaces Reporter, India’s first architecture & design magazine focused on interior products & building materials, is proud to be associated with Kochi Design Week 2019 as its media partner. The second edition of Kochi Design Week (KDW-2019) will be held from December 12 to 14 at Bolgatty Palace, Bolgatty (Ernakulam - Kerala) and will see the coming together of experts, from across the world, to discuss global trends in design and architecture. The summit is being organised by the Electronics and IT Department of Government of Kerala in association with international bodies such as World Design Organisation (WDO) and Interaction Design Association (IxDA).

Kochi Design Week will see participation of design professionals from India and abroad, heads of various design companies, architects, interior designers, thought leaders, policymakers and government officials besides the general public. It is expected that around 5,000 delegates and 100-plus speakers will attend the event. The list of speakers includes representatives from companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, TATA Elxsi, YouTube, ISCA London, Indigo Airlines, Titan Company and PWC. Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will also share his experiences and insights. One of the aims of the event is to provide design inputs for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in product ecosystem.
This edition of Kochi Design Week has an array of independent events stitched together with design thread. In all there are nine major events - Design Summit, Global Architecture Summit, Design Expo, Design Workshop, Design Open, Block Hash Live, Maker Fest, Kerala Design Challenge and Master Class - that will offer inquisitive individuals a platform to listen and discuss with luminaries of the industry on the future of design. The various formats - workshops, panel discussions, keynote speeches, exhibitions, etc - have been thoughtfully curated by leading experts.
