With Hoppipola, each outlet had to be different. The designers at Spiro Sepro wanted to have certain elements that defined the brand. The goal was to create a low-cost space that didn’t feel cheap and easy. A large focus wherever possible with the Hoppipola spaces was to have an indoor and outdoor section. That’s when it was decided that the outside section can have a fun, bright and sturdy floor that can become a trademark. They wanted to do paver blocks but not in the traditionally available colours and designs. They then met a tile maker from Daman who made paver blocks. Initially, they had to convince him to make a white paver block as he couldn’t comprehend that to be possible. They had to research about colouring cement and after a lot of trial and error figured the right proportion and material that they could use to create a white tile. The tile maker had to be then convinced for a better design and so a custom floral mould got made. And a contrasting blue tile with it. After 20 trial and error variations and moulding, the designers could achieve the right colour for the white and blue. So all Hoppipola outdoor areas have this floor now and you’re unlikely to find it anywhere else in the world!
