Raising Environmental Sensitivity through Lighting

Raising Environmental Sensitivity through Lighting

Designer A Designer Arturo Álvarez’s lighting proposal is an amalgamation of experimentation, design, research, innovation and handmade craft. With the concern to improve the sustainability of designs as background, Arturo Álvarez presents these new creations inspired by the seas and, through their names, calls to consider the problem of plastic in the oceans.

Of the 2 designs proposed by him; Aimei Collection has delicate spines that expand and protect the light. This design made of ash wood has infinite possibilities. Each perspective makes the light shine in a different way. This large luminaire has a light source made by artisans that blends with an organic and light wood form.

The design has got originally published in the August Issue of Surfaces Reporter Magazine.

We invite designers from around the world to share their creations with us at press@surfacesreporter.com
