Having received the planning approval for the new headquarters of the Goldsun group by foster + partners in Taipei, the project has been included as a part of the nangang urban regeneration project. The structural draft of the structure introduces a new mixed-used typology to the area by replacing the existing Goldsun factory with a mid-rise building that generates new connections with the surrounding urban fabric.
For Goldsun’s design, Foster group has showcased a complex which consists of office spaces alongside residential and retail areas. An important feature of this project is the impeccable scenario of nature in form of sky gardens. At various levels of the complex, these man-made sky gardens offer the employees a view of serenity and a variety of social spaces for the public. Result; it will provide them a naturally lit and ventilated spaces throughout the buildings.
‘It has been a wonderful challenge working with our client to transform this existing industrial site into a unique contemporary urban complex – combining workplace, retail and living spaces around a series of tree-filled courtyards,’ comments grant brooker, head of studio, foster + partners. ‘We hope that it will be a vibrant new social focus that will bring life to the area and form the centrepiece of its regeneration.’
