Saint-Gobain India Sets to Invest ?2,500 Crore in the Home and Construction Space | SR News Update

Saint-Gobain India, a foremost manufacturer of glass and building material, plans to invest more than Rs 2,500 crores in the home and construction sector in the coming two years. Saint-Gobain will be investing more than Rs 2,500 crore in India between financial years 22-23 in the home and construction space. Hemant Khurana, Executive Director, Saint-Gobain India said in a statement, “The home segment offers a significant opportunity for Saint-Gobain in India. We are only 32% urbanized in India compared with 62% in China.”

He further explained that the market size of the housing sector in India is over $25 billion and it is rapidly growing at a CAGR of 8-10%. And the company believes that it will grow even faster in the coming years owing to the massive urbanization.

Range of Innovative Home Solutions

The firm also launched its range of exciting and innovative home solutions along with uPVC windows collection and shower cubicles manufactured with European design and engineering under the MyHome range.

These are fully customized end-to-end solutions for homes meaning the consumers can pick from a wide range of different product types sizes, glazing, and accessories to complement them with the aesthetics of their home. “The shower cubicles range, consisting of glass and hardware along with doorstep measurement and installation, are available in 500+ design options to suit a bathroom of any size and shape,” mentioned in the statement. The products are manufactured in the company’s Rs 100 crore highly automated & digitalized factory. 

The company plans to open 50-plus MyHome stores by the end of this year across Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III cities to offer a touch and feel experience to the customers.m It has a target of generating up to s 1,000 crore revenue from the home solutions business in the next 3 to 5 years. The company has already opened its stores in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kochi.
