People now-a-days tend to choose granite as their perfect countertop due to its durability, strength and beauty. It also matches well with the kitchen floor and cabinets which gives it an extra point to be installed as a countertop. Granite countertops can simply transform the look and feel of any interiors they are installed at.

Perhaps, one might always get confused on which granite finish to choose from. Is it polished? Is it honed? Or will leather finish suit the best? Well, to clear out any such confusion from your head, SURFACES REPORTER will tell you about the looks each kind of granite has so you can easily choose for yourself your perfect granite finish.

Polished Granite Finish

It is the most popular and most common granite finish that is found on the surfaces. It brings out a shiny and smooth surface that showcases the best color, unique characters and depth of the granite. It is covered with fine polishing pads which make the granite look glossier and mirror like. These polishing pads also make the stone appear slightly darker and richer in tone.

Honed Granite Finish

Honed finish granite is becoming trendy for contemporary spaces. It is a smooth premium surface that has no bumps. It has no polished reflection as well. Honed granite has a satin or matte appearance that it gets when the finishing process is stopped before the slab becomes buffed. This way, darker tone granites are achieved that result in light or greyer look.

Leathered Granite Finish

Leather finish granite is a newer trend that has gained a lot of attention in the design world. It has a soft surface but in comparison to polished granite, its surface is less smooth. It also has a textured appearance. These are particularly made out of honed granites just that a diamond tipped brush is run on its surface to give it leather like look and feel. It has more of natural colours but is often used on darker stone.
