How To Shine Granite Countertops Naturally

Shine Granite Countertops

When it comes to durable and solid surfaces for home, granite is what comes to mind. It lasts long and it goes well as a countertop, backsplash and even in bathrooms. But with time and abrasive liquids like vinegar or bleach, granite tends to lose its shine. Although the granite has a finishing polish that does not stop shining for a longer time, yet, to keep up with the shine of granite, SURFACES REPORTER has a few points that you can follow and make your granites look amazing as ever.

Retain The Shine Of The Surface

You should clean your granite surface everyday using mild soap and a paper towel. It will remove any sort of spills and stains from the surface and keep you surface shiny as ever. You can also use bleach or vinegar free granite cleaner and clean your granite surface using a towel.

Make sure to never use windex, Clorox, vinegar or bleach to clean your granite at home. They will damage your natural stone or end up making it look dull.

Intensify The Shine

There are a few granite shine polishes available in the market that you can use to enhance the shine of your granite. Whenever polishing the surface, make sure to never use a hard or rough towel or substance to polish the surface. It will end up in a scratched surface. Make sure to always polish in circular motion as it will spread equally and make your granite look shiny.

Seal The Granite Surface

Sometimes the polish becomes dull with time and the seal of granite breaks as well which makes the granite look duller. To maintain this, seal your surface every year and clean your granite every day too. This way, your granite will live longer and healthier.

Always clean your granite surface before sealing it. Apply the seal. Wait for the first coat to dry and then apply another coat. Do not use the granite for at least 24 hours so that the seal can dry and your surface can keep shining for years to come.
