Bathrooms of a Luxurious Residence in West Delhi
Design: Ar. Manishi Aggarwal & Ar. Apoorv Singh Co-founders, Design Cosmos, Gurugram
The couple, who wanted their children to get spoilt-forchoice, chose a Brazilian Quartzite (corteccia) for their son’s bathroom. This stone has an eclectic color palette with oceanic waves of grey, beige, ivory, tan and brown. The intent of wrapping this stone around on most walls in this bathroom was to make it synonymous with the depth of the ocean. Complimenting playful angles were added via lighting and shape of mirror. Blue LED light behind mirror represents water. This stone added color to this bathroom in a suave manner.
For the daughter’s bathroom, the parent’s princess, a pristine onyx stone was chosen in shades of honey. The reflection in this stone is so clear that it feels like one is walking off the floor. Pattern in grey and white hues add a more contemporary and up-to-date character to this space. The round mirrors further the feminine temperament.
THE MASTER BATH:
It is combined with their dresser. A huge window allowed ample natural light to enter this bathroom. Keeping in line with the neutral hues of the master bedroom, a neutral beigish-grey quartzite Statuario venato was chosen for this space. This formed the underlay and a complimenting overlay of cloudy black onyx stone was used for the counter along with a backdrop of black and gold mosaic tile. The counter wall jazzes up an otherwise subtle bathroom balancing both characters just like the couple themselves!
