Creating thoughtful liveable Space

Shailja Shah Patel

The main requirement from the client was to have a home that caters the requirements of their family members living in india and europe. The aim was to preserve many of their generation old items while also modernizing what was possible. This home is amalgamations of form, colour and material properties. They are also amalgamations of procedural functions, Directed randomness, deliberate design, abstractions, photorealism and painting. Our objective was to have every room look well put together with the ideal mix of elements. We took the clients imagination to provide An overall ambience from the door to the ceiling capturing both indian and european touch. One theme that can be seen in the pictures is to preserve roots in vaishnavism in all the rooms especially in the dining and family area. An 80 year old cabinet to showcase generation old crockery. Combination of very old wood with light green colour faint along with swing, temple and two modern hand painted pictures of lord Krishna captures Indian heritage and overall flow of the theme
