Architect Tony Joseph is the Principal of ‘Stapati’, established in 1989, after completing his post-graduation from University of Texas, Austin, USA in the Charles Moore program. Interactions and travels with Moore and his views on regional architecture had a strong influence in the direction of Tony's design.

Stapati is today a professional practice with emphasis on values of integrity, sustainability and innovation. It has won several awards and recognitions over the years since its inception.

Tony is also the Founder Chairman of Avani Institute of Design which is an Architecture and Design education centre located in Calicut. He was invited in the Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2016 as an artist and had designed the Biennale Pavilion. Stapati has worked in various projects including hospitality, residential, commercial, institutional, interiors and master planning.
