Shreedevi holds a post graduate degree in Urban Design from School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi. Prior to that, she had the opportunity to work on the celebrated Urban Conservation Project - Muzirus Heritage Project in Kerala with Conservation Specialist Benny Kuriuakose. He also holds a gold medal in B.Arch from National Institute of Technology Calicut. As someone who has always been keenly interested in how nature and sociology shape architecture, Shreedevi found her abode at ABRD Architects in 2012. She strongly imbibes the firm’s Philosophy to Create Conscious Designs. The studio follows an evolutionary approach of design, where solutions emerge as a response to local contexts and natural environment, while being economically viable. They believe in crafting and co-creating built environments that facilitate well-being. She strongly believes that very piece of architecture is part of a greater canvas and becomes a permanent entity in the skyline of a city, hence sensitively integrating it with the urban fabric and looking beyond the site boundary is where the design begins. It also includes looking at macro and micro level of topography, hydrology and landscape. She believes that some of the most enticing designs she had opportunity to work on, strongly adopted the principles of designing with nature. But the rewarding part of the project is to resolving the details of the design and construction. She is a keen reader, with especially texts related to cities, ecology, and sociology. Also loves to pen down her thoughts in her journal. Has a keen interest in Mural paintings and folk art.
