Hungarian architects

Built in 1975 by Hungarian architects Antti Lovag for French industrialist Pierre Bernard, this iconic 1200 sqm house, comprising a series of bubbled spaces, is on sale in the south of France. Named 'Palais Bulles' (Bubble Palace), this luxurious and eclectic home adds to the French Riviera's luxuriousness. Antti Lovag took 14 years to construct this unusual home before it was bought in 1992 by legendary French fashion designer Pierre Cardin, who passed away on December 29, 2020. The iconic dwelling located on Théoule-Sur-Mer near Cannes includes ten bedroom suites decorated by contemporary artists and a 500-seat outdoor auditorium overlooking the mediterranean sea. It also has gardens, water ponds and a swimming pool extending over more than 8,500 square meters. SURFACES REPORTER (SR) brings more info about Pierre's Iconic Bubble Palace. Read on:

An Architectural Masterpiece

Facing the bay of Cannes and stretching over an area of 1200 square meter, the bubble palace is one of the noteworthy examples of modern architecture.

\The unusual design of the building features an assembly of bubble formations interspersed with pools and terraces. Each bubble module has a large and round opening that permits natural light to enter while reflecting the nearby Mediterranean sea and sailboats.

The bubble palace boasts 29 rooms, including ten-bedroom suits and 11 bathrooms.

The interiors of the home were decorated like an artwork, such as murals by Daniel You, François Chauvin, Patrice Breteau, Jérôme Tisserand, and Gérard Le Cloarec finesses the maze-like hallways and bubble-shaped rooms.

A Stage for Fashion Shows

Pierre Cardin presented one of his collections in this iconic Bubble house in 2008, while another Paris-based fashion designer also showcased its 2016 collection here. It only went into five-year revamping in 2015

The organic home was listed for sale by Christie's International Real Estate at $420 million in 2017, but it did not get any buyers, perhaps because of the price.
