The season of merrymaking- Christmas- is here, and the celebrations are in full swing. If you are into a jolly holiday mood, don't forget to visit the Delhi shopping malls to enjoy the Christmas. Every year, the shopping centres in Delhi get decked up for Christmas and New Year. People gather in these shopping malls with their kids to see a well decorated Christmas tree, watch elegant Santa Claus distributing gifts to excited kids, and listen to the Christmas Carols & the jingle bells and baubles. Apart from all these ornamentations, special performances, programs, magic shows and costume parties are sure to delight kids and parents alike. Even to entice shoppers, several mall owners are spending huge money on decking the malls with more Christmas decorations.

Select City Walk Mall
Located in Saket, New Delhi, Select CITYWALK is all set to fill the air with festive cheer. The shopping centre has adopted a giant ‘magical-themed’ castle for Christmas, with unicorns lined up on its sides. According to people working in this field, the budgets for festive decorations have gone up too high- in small malls where it as much as lakh rupees from just crores in some large malls. Arun Samuel of Q Events, who has been working with malls for even more than ten years, said that they showed around five different themes to the mall operator before they selected the castle outside the mall theme. He also said that the Mall owners now don’t see it as an expense but investment.
This Christmas, the mall has incorporated blue and purple colour decors. Mall owners state that customers have seen almost all type of decorations for years and now they are looking for something different that gives wholesome entertainment. As per Abhishek Bansal, the executive director of Pacific Mall in West Delhi, they used to spend around Rs 10 lakh for decorations per festival two years ago. At this time, their budget for Diwali and Christmas theme decorations has gone up three times to about Rs 30 lakh.
