
There was a time when artists and architects were considered the same. But the increased specialization in the modern world has parted the disciplines of art and architecture. Though the acclaimed Indian architect and promoter of sustainable living- Bijoy Jain takes himself more seriously as an artist and believes that he has a long distance to cover in the domain of art.
The architect turned artist says “We don’t need to stereotype ourselves, why put yourself in a box?”For me, art and architecture are the same; it’s all part of one exploration.” And his 2nd Exhibition- ‘Abhaya: In the Palm of our Hand’ -at Chemould Prescott Road is an attempt to articulate this approach.

The renowned designer is ready to come up with his second show after the successful completion of his first solo event in 2014. The exhibition will commence on December 4 and run until January 3.
The well-known architect & the founder of Indian practice Studio Mumbai gets his hand into banana fibre, ash, cow dung, lime plaster, basalt and clay to create his arts. The practising architect also says that he has always applied artist approach in his projects such as the use of abstraction, land art, gestures, expressionism, where shape and shapelessness fused into flawless areas, unfettered by boundaries.
