These Suspended Camping Pods offer Comfort and Luxury of Modern Lodging | Floating Retreat

Dubai-based design studio Ardh Architect recently featured a notable concept that allows one to benefit the modern-day camping capabilities while being suspended in mid-air. With the intention of ‘exploring new potential architectural spaces that can be morphed with no boundaries,’ the team has dared to design a new imagination by exploring many themes, testing and evaluating them. Know more about their project on SURFACES REPORTER (SR).

Located in the tranquil mountains of Sharjah, Ardh Architect has introduced a city of hanging pods that will offer a camping experience while hanging in the middle of the air between two mountain ridges for adventurous travelers. Named Floating Retreat, the project draws a triangular design that is suspended from a bridge. The bridge further connects the top of the mountains that overlooks a common valley.

Each prism pod of the Floating Retreat is fully equipped with essential amenities. The pods act as a relaxing factor in the remote location, away from bustling city life. Ardh Architect with the help of Sharjah’s Investment and Development Authority Shurooq has been able to deliver a hanging retreat that also includes trekking or cycling tours. The retreat highlights the serene nature of the UAE and aims at promoting environmental awareness.
