Indias First Semi High-Speed Regional train For Delhi-Meerut RRTS; Can Run at 180 kmph & Decrease Travel Time by 40% | SR News Update

India has got its first Semi High-Speed Regional Train, delivered successfully by Alstom- a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility. This is the first train that has been delivered in less than a year since the beginning of production and is 100% made in India at Alstom's factory in Savli (Gujarat). It is designed for National Capital Region Transport Corporation's (NCRTC) 82.5 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS line. RRTS is the first-of-its-kind system in which trains, with a design speed of 180 kmph, will be available every 5–10 minutes and cover the distance between Delhi and Meerut in 55 minutes with 14 stoppages.The energy-efficient train can run at 180kmph, reducing the travel time between Delhi and Meerut by 40 percent.
