Uttar Pradesh government has signed an agreement with School of Planning and Architecture and sanctioned Rs 76 lakh to prepare a vision document on the protection of Taj Mahal as directed by the Supreme Court.

Principal secretary (UP tourism) Avanish Kumar Awasthi said, “The agreement has already been signed between Taj Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) chairman K Ram Mohan Rao and Delhi’s School of Planning and Architecture and a composite of plan is likely to be submitted within four months.”

The Supreme Court on Thursday had asked the UP government to submit a draft in connection with the vision document on the protection of Taj Mahal within four months.

The document will comprise plans with a futuristic perspective which could conserve the iconic monument, its environs and the TTZ for at least a few hundred years.
